Fee information 2024 - 2025

Weekly fees for undergraduates: £254

  • The fees are based on a minimum of 38 weeks for the academic year. Fees are payable in advance. Termly payments can be arranged upon request.
  • The 38 weeks’ charge is based on 15 consecutive weeks from Saturday 7th September to Saturday 21st December 2024 and 23 consecutive weeks Saturday 4th January to Saturday 14th June 2025.
  • Total fees: £9,652

As guidance, Ashwell will be open during 2024/2025 academic year on the following dates:

  • Autumn: 2nd September 2024 – 21st December 2024
  • Spring & Summer: 2nd January 2025 – 21st June 2025

Once a place has been offered to a resident, it can be secured by making a deposit of £254. Ashwell House is not part of a Tenancy Deposit Protection Scheme and will be solely responsible for the collection and safe return of the deposit. The deposit will be refunded when the resident leaves, minus any sums due to the Residence. Such deductions include outstanding residence fees, late payment charge, loss of key (£5), gate card (£5), lunch and fridge box (£10) or laundry bags (£10), costs in respect of repair to any damage caused to Ashwell’s premises and its fixtures and fittings or equipment, and any reasonable costs incurred as a result of a breach by the resident of any of her obligations under the licence agreement.

Any student wishing to leave before the end of the academic year must give four weeks’ written notice before the end of the first term. No refunds of fees can be made to students who leave mid-term.

You will be invoiced for your fees twice; in September 2024 for 15 weeks and in January 2025 for 23 weeks. Payments should be made within 4 weeks of invoice. A late payment charge based on a 3.75% annual rate will be applied daily on any amounts outstanding after the payment deadline. It will be deducted from the deposit.

 

Holiday periods: Ashwell House is closed during Christmas and during the month of August. There is limited availability in the rest of the summer months.

  • Students may leave their belongings in their respective rooms over the Christmas break. Rooms should be left empty at the end of the year.
  • Returning residents can store their luggage in Ashwell over the summer for a fee which is dependent on the amount of luggage left;
  • Students wishing to stay during the summer months should inform in advance to check availability.

The fees include:

  • Accommodation in individual study bedrooms (which includes a sink). There are toilets and showers available in each floor.
  • Access to all facilities, including the library, computer room, common rooms, bike shed, etc
  • Breakfast & dinner on weekdays; brunch & dinner on Saturdays and Sundays.
  • Free WIFI is available through the house
  • Bed linen and towel laundry service
  • A personal weekly laundry service

Short stays

Ashwell House offers facilities for short term stays, conditional on room availability. Short term stays are limited to a maximum of four weeks during term time and six weeks off term.

The daily charge for a short stay is £50 for a single room. As from 1st June 2024 the daily charge will be £55.

If staying more than one week, the weekly charge is £300 for a single room.  As from 1st June 2024 the weekly charge will be £350.

Ashwell House is a catered accommodation – hence this charge is inclusive of breakfast and dinner Monday to Friday, and brunch and dinner on Saturday and Sunday.

Ashwell House is a female-only hall of residence, accepting applications from women age 18 and above.

The short-term fee includes:
