Securing a place: Once a place has been offered to a resident, it can be secured by making a deposit of £266. Ashwell House is not part of a Tenancy Deposit Protection Scheme and will be solely responsible for the collection and safe return of the deposit.
The deposit will be refunded when the resident leaves, minus any sums due to the Residence. Such deductions include outstanding residence fees, late payment charge, loss of key (£5), gate card (£5), lunch and fridge box (£10) or 2 laundry bags (£10), costs in respect of repair to any damage caused to Ashwell’s premises and its fixtures and fittings or equipment, and any reasonable costs incurred as a result of a breach by the resident of any of her obligations under the licence agreement.
Termination: Any student wishing to leave before the end of the academic year must give four weeks’ written notice before the end of the first term. No refunds of fees can be made to students who leave mid-term.
Invoices: You will be invoiced for your fees twice; in September 2025 for 15 weeks and in January 2026 for 23 weeks. Payments should be made within 3 weeks of invoice. A late payment charge based on a 3.75% annual rate will be applied daily on any amounts outstanding after the payment deadline. It will be deducted from the deposit.
Holiday periods: Ashwell House is closed during Christmas and during the summer. There is limited availability in the rest of the summer months.
