Students can make a difference by offering extra learning opportunities to girls aged 8 – 18 at The Baytree Centre. They can run after-school youth activities such as cookery, maths, science and art clubs, as well as organising fundraising events to support the Baytree financially. A key factor underlying the success of Baytree is the motivational inspiration that the university students provide for its young people. The programme runs every week during term time.
Visits to the elderly and those in need are greatly encouraged by Ashwell. Students can provide the warmth of a friendly conversation to the lonely, whilst also developing their awareness and experience of life.
Another way that students can contribute is by assisting at Soup Kitchens. Run at different venues in London, students spend some time with the homeless and less fortunate.
