Local volunteering
“You too can make a positive change to the lives of people around you” – Pope Francis Ashwell residents can contribute to the community through volunteering. Many residents take part in the weekly sandwich run. Some also volunteer at Baytree Centre, a social inclusion charity for women and girls, where they help to run after-school youth activities such as cookery, maths, science and art clubs, as well as organising fundraising events. We also help organise visits to the elderly and others in need. Many residents volunteer at Idia’s Community Kitchen .
